Fun, thoughtful, trippy poems from Kerouac. I'm happy to have included his works in my haiku readings. I'll be buying a copy of this for my brother...and I might have to buy a physical copy for myself.

Hmm. I think if I was more of a gardener, I'd be more thrilled with this. As it was, it was fun to skip ahead to look at pictures and poems. Maybe I'll enjoy this more over time. I dunno. I wanted to read this to get to know Dickinson's poems better. I'd recommend looking for other books if you want an intro.
On the whole, it's a very well-crafted, loving book. It just wasn't quite my thing.

So I originally stopped reading this because I had such a fierce/angry envy-desire to read trans masc poetry, that I didn't feel I could give the book the attentiveness it deserved. Now that Benaway's indigeneity has been called into question by various Indigenous communities, I am glad to have left it on pause.
