Mille feuilles is a small, ad-free, and anti-corporate social network about books which runs on open-source Bookwyrm software. From Mille feuilles, you can seamlessly follow and interact with users on other BookWyrm instances and on services like Mastodon, or just interact with other users on Mille feuilles. Mille feuilles is growing very slowly, in order to ensure that the website scales in a sustainable way.

For my English-speaking visitors, a mille-feuille is a popular type of pastry, and the name literally translates as "thousand leaves."

Code of Conduct

Une version française de cette charte communautaire sera produite bientôt.

Mille feuilles is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. This CoC is adapted closely from https://friend.camp/about/more, https://bookwyrm.social/conduct, and https://lgbtq.technology/coc.html.

Mille feuilles is administered by Gersande La Flèche, who can be found locally at @gersande@millefeuilles.cloud or by email at bookwyrm@mail.millefeuilles.cloud.

This code of conduct applies to all Mille feuilles spaces, including public channels, private channels and direct messages, both online and off. Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from these spaces at the discretion of the administrators.

Types of Harassment

  • Deliberate "outing" of any aspect of a person's identity without their consent except as necessary to protect vulnerable people from intentional abuse
  • Publication of non-harassing private communication
  • Jokes that resemble the above, such as "hipster racism", still count as harassment even if meant satirically or ironically.
  • Microaggressions, which take the form of everyday jokes, put downs, and insults that spread humiliating feelings to people of marginalized groups

The administrators will not act on complaints regarding:

  • "Reverse"-isms, including "reverse racism," "reverse sexism," and "cisphobia"

The admins reserve the right to exclude people from Mille feuilles based on their past behavior, including behavior outside Mille feuilles spaces and behavior towards people who are not on Mille feuilles. We will not name harassment victims without their affirmative consent.

Consequences

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the administrators may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from all Mille feuilles spaces and identification of the participant as a harasser to other Mille feuilles members or the general public.
