A story of a demon and an angel, emotionally satisfying and interesting.
The emotional story is wonderful, conclusive, with very innovative plot points.
The writing is very poetic. The poetry actually gives a kind of distance, which works well, since it's mostly told from the point of view of an immortal. You feel separate from the people, but intimately tied to their actions.
Another brilliant book by Nghi Vo, who is such a consumed storyteller, the kind who gently take your hand and make you believe every detail. A fascinating read.
