I'd read this gem when it came out in paperback, and I was 12 years old. I loved it so much, I did an except of the interview as a skit in camp that summer.

Funnily enough, as a teen, I think I somehow skipped reading the very first novel in the Chronicles and just hopped around in the series. So it was cool to read the beginning. It was much darker than I expected, but I enjoyed the tension, romance, angst, and longing.
I was really rooting for Louis and Armand.
